High Performance Outlook 2021

We have just had two weeks of waking up to this backdrop with fun with family and friends, spent camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, cooking, eating and drinking, it was just what was needed. Although there was little R&R, the batteries are now fully recharged and ready to take on the exciting year ahead.

In 2021 we will continue to focus on building high performance, energy efficient homes, that operate as good as they look. Homes which require very little energy to run, and are comfortable ALL year round. Homes which are airtight, free of mould, making it a healthier environment especially for allergy sufferers.

The old fashioned ‘she’ll be right’ type approach which has more often than not worked for us Australian’s on many fronts, is no longer an acceptable approach when designing and building a home.

No longer can we build houses that are ‘comfortable’ for 75% of the year. These extremes are unfortunately becoming more frequent.

We will document and upload how we are doing this to help others understand and be able to undertake similar practises. By no means are we pioneers of this type of building, and it is still relatively new to us. We will continue to collaborate with our clients, designers and trades, along with using the brains trust we are developing with other like minded builders we can achieve outstanding results.

This is not a competition, and it’s not our own ‘secret recipe’, it’s something that has been taught to us by like minded professionals who are generous with their knowledge and passionate about changing the way houses are constructed.

All the builders and designers out there who are on board with building the type of homes that I have described, know what I’m talking about, and I wish you all the best, and we CAN make a positive difference. To all the builders and designers out there who are not quite there yet, please give this a chance. And lastly to all people looking at building, a high performance home isn’t out of reach, and is achievable and more importantly worthwhile.

This is not a marketing ploy. This is about making a difference and changing the acceptable standards of building in Australia.
