The term Passivhaus relates to a set of standards that can be applied to any type of building. A Passivhaus provides a resilient framework in which we can build and deliver homes that use up to 90% less energy. This framework enables a home to be designed to maintain a comfortable, stable temperature of 20-25°C year round. This is achieved by building an air tight building envelope, with uninterrupted continuous insulation and high performance windows and doors. Specific focus is given to ensure no thermal bridges exist therefore temperature cannot travel in or out, enabling you to maintain a stable indoor temperature and eliminating mould and condensation. You can breathe easy. The mechanical ventilation systems in place provide fresh filtered air 24/7. The result is a fresh vibrant home which has no mould or allergens. It is a delight to live in.

A 'certified Passivhaus' goes one step further and includes a level of scrutiny that is typically not seen in the Australian building market. Energy modelling at the design phase and rigorous testing throughout the construction of the project ensures we can build and deliver the design. It makes certain all the elements of this framework work together as one. This idea in not new, there are over 100,000 buildings world wide that align to this process.
